Cartoon
SAVE a picture of your favorite cartoon character. Try to make it as close as you can to the original OR change it and add in your own creativity!
Remember to work in layers and hide them when you add the upper details. Naming your layers can be helpful as things become more complex.
Steps:
*You will only have this period to work. Please use your time effectively.
1. Download the Image.
2. Open the image on a new 8.5 by 11 inch document in Illustrator.
3. Lock the layer with the graphic and make a new layer on top to draw on.
4. Draw each of the shapes that make up the Viking Head. (make new layers for everything that overlaps!)
5. Change the colors of the fill and stroke of each of the sections.
6. Email the completed version (as much as you have done) saved as an Adobe PDF to [email protected] or submit through our class website.

white arrow (direct selection) for specific anchor points
black arrow (selection) for entire shapes
stroke (outside of shapes)
fill (inside of shapes)
opacity (see through to background)
